Experience three different faces of Britain! North Wales with its magnificent scenery and historic castles, combined with the ancient city of Chester and world famous Liverpool.
Our tour visits the unique walled city of CHESTER , whose history dates back to Roman times. Take a stroll along the famous 'Rows', medieval shopping galleries, full of charm and atmosphere. We have included a guided tour, and there will be time to explore and shop on your own, before continuing onto our hotel in Chester, where we are based for the next two nights.
We have a full day to explore NORTH WALES, during which you will enjoy some of the most breathtaking views and historic monuments in the British Isles. Our tour includes the World Heritage Site of CONWAY CASTLE, and a drive through the awe-inspiring SNOWDON MOUNTAIN RANGE to the pretty mountain resort of BETWS-Y-COED for lunch.
We end the day with a visit to an award winning SLATE MINE, set in dramatic mountain scenery, where we travel back to Victorian times and marvel at how harsh life was for the miners in those days. This evening, there is the option of a guided ghost walk in Chester.
We spend our last day in LIVERPOOL, where a guided tour will uncover the city's long history, not forgetting its connections to THE BEATLES! We also have time to explore the fascinating ALBERT DOCK area, with its splendid museums, fashionable restaurants and boutiques, and also stroll the world famous waterfront.
