This exciting tour combines the grandeur and romance of the unique city of Venice with the magnificent scenery of the Italian Lakes and historic gems of Verona.
ITINERARY
DAY 1 : Morning departure from Gatwick to VERONA. On arrival we will transfer to our hotel in LAKE GARDA, set in a beautiful location surrounded by spectacular mountains and just a short walk to the Lake. After checking in there will be free time to explore and maybe do some shopping.
DAY 2 : A full day for us to explore the shores of LAKE GARDA by coach and by boat, to appreciate the spectacular beauty of this area. Our tour will include some of the most picturesque lakeside towns, including SIRMIONE, which was home to Maria Callas and is famous for its medieval centre and moated castle. Plenty of opportunity for you to shop and enjoy some refreshment in one of the old piazzas. We shall also visit spectacular LIMONE, GARDONE RIVIERA – and more!
DAY 3 : A full day in VENICE. for you to explore the famous sites of the city, including the RIALTO BRIDGE, DUCAL PALACE and ST. MARK’S SQUARE, to name but a few! You will also have an opportunity to take an optional GONDOLA ride. Time to have an early dinner before making our way back to our hotel.
DAY 4 : After breakfast we depart for VERONA, often described as one of Italy’s fourth classical city, world famous for its opera festival and the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. On arrival, our guided tour will include JULIET’S HOUSE and the famous balcony, the magnificent ROMAN ARENA, and the 12th Century BASILICA OF SAN ZENO MAGGIORE, (considered by many to be the finest Romanesque church in northern Italy). Time to explore on your own and do some shopping before catching our late afternoon flight back to Gatwick
